I spent about four hours this morning at Stevens Creek County Park.
Highlights were Olive-sided Flycatcher, Western Wood-peewee, American
Dipper and a Red-shouldered Hawk nest. I saw one dipper a little upstream
of the second bridge. The second, maybe the same bird, was upstream of the
fourth bridge when I first watched it. It then flew under the bridge and I
saw it again just downstream of the bridge on my way back. Some other
birders let me know about a the Red-shouldered Hawk nest in a Sycamore tree
across from the Madrone picnic area. There was one adult on the nest, but I
saw no young.
