All,

Kelly Hayashi and I visited Jasper Ridge with Tom Merigan, who is a
student of mine and a docent at the preserve, and his wife Joan on
Sunday, March 30. The purpose of the trip was view the incredible
display of spring wildflowers which was truly stunning. In addition to
the flowers, of course, we saw many birds. While I tried to my hardest
to concentrate on the ground I couldn't help but notice at least 6
BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS, singing CALIFORNIA THRASHER, several
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHERS, 3-4 HOUSE WRENS, and quite a few
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS.

What a beautiful spot, well worth the effort of securing a guide.
