On Sunday, 3/16,  Amy and spent part of the day walking at Henry Coe State Park.  Rain a good portion of that time kept bird activity low. Of interest were two flocks of Pine siskins, which are very uncommon erratics in the park.
There were numerous large flocks of Band-tailed Pigeons, while less than a month ago the birds were completely absent.

Also observed were the first Warbling vireos of the season, with at least three birds heard singing among the newly emergent leaves of the black oaks.
