This is virtually the same location they chose in 1999. Unfortunately it is *not* accessible to the public. It wasn't clear whether they're already incubating, but I suspect they may be--one was sitting "on watch," sometimes in a nearby Redwood and sometimes right on the edge of the backyard in the open part of the bay trees there (yep, I had great views!). If they are really already incubating, it would be more than a month earlier than they nested in 2001 (I don't have good figures for 1999). There's another nest in the yard belonging to something smaller: looks like a half cup of sticks and fluff glued to the wall with mud or something. Thought I caught a glimpse of something flying from it last week but nothing since.
