All,

Things were a bit slow during today's SCVAS field trip to Uvas Creek Park 
Preserve but it was a gorgeous day to be there.  Best birds were a HOUSE 
WREN, a female MERLIN, an adult GOLDEN EAGLE and three species of Swallows 
(TREE, CLIFF and NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED).  A singing ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER 
went unseen.  Later a pair of RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS were seen, mating, in a 
Sycamore(?) tree near an old nest site in Christmas Hill Park (one of the 
pair had spent some time in the nest prior to the start of the field trip).
