interest:



This year's "Hummingbird Celebration" at the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum is on 
Saturday, March 15. The Arboretum’s popular annual event celebrates the 
wonder of hummingbirds with slide lectures on hummingbird ecology and natural 
history, tours of the gardens, and crafts for children. All activities are 
free. Slide lectures will be given by David Suddjian at 10:00 a.m. and Tonya 
Haff at 1:00 p.m., each followed by a tour to look at hummingbirds. Steve 
McCabe will lead tours of plants that attract hummers at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 
p.m. Children’s crafts will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Arboretum is 
located off Empire Grade between the east and west entrances to UCSC. Call 
the Arboretum at 831-427-2998 for further details. Come and get plugged into 
hummer electricity!
