Lots of pellets under many trees but the only owl we saw was a BARN OWL in a pine tree near the golf course. A male ALLEN's HUMMINGBIRD (at least a _selasphorous_ hummingbird with extensive green on the back and green on the crown) feeding on pink Eucalyptus flowers. A RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER feeding on the same flowers. (any recent sigthings of the Long-eared Owls?) One was in the Elm Picnic Area in the flowering eucalyptus by the golf course fence. The other one was seen at the Spring Valley Picnic Area. Both obliged by perching for a time on nearby pines thereby giving excellent views of these exquisite little gems. I could not detect any Allen's Hummingbirds for certain, but I did see two female selasphorous-type hummers among the ecucalyptus at the Spring Valley parking lot. Other birds of note included a BARN SWALLOW at Sandy Wool Lake and fifteen WILD TURKEYS crossing Downing Rd (the entrance road to the Sandy Wool Lake / Elm Picnic Area portions of the park).
