Nothing unusual was encountered, but a GREEN HERON fly by was interesting. ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHERS were spaced out along the creek, and a family of WESTERN KINGBIRDS was occupying a sycamore just north of the ponds. Other interesting creek residents were CALIFORNIA THRASHERS and WRENTITS. On Sunday, 29 Jun 03, I had a flock of about 150 adult WESTERN SANDPIPERS on the CCFS waterbird pond. This is the first returning group of this species I've seen this season. A check of the banding board showed that a WILLOW FLYCATCHER had been banded on 21 Jun.
