A threesome of Vaux's Swifts was foraging in a mixed swallow flock between 10 and 11am today 6/28/03 as I checked nestboxes at Byrne Park in Los Altos.

At all 3 sites checked today (Foothills Park, Arastradero Preserve, and Byrne), almost all nestbox activity has been completed, excepting several Violet-green Swallow clutches and one House Wren. Most of the VGSWs are quite close to fledging, but one at Foothills Park has young just 3-5 days old. The HOWR young (at Arastradero) are also under 5 days old.
