This morning while conducting a bird survey at the Coyote Creek Field Station (CCFS), I observed an adult male Blue Grosbeak singing from the top of a small Coyote Brush plant in the overflow channel.  The bird was only about 30 meters from me and I got a good look at it for about a minute.  Then it stopped singing and flew up and off, over the sewage ponds and into the distance.

The White-tailed Kite nest there fledged young, and at least 6 young Kites and 2 adults have been seen at one time in the past week.
