Perhaps it's now OK to make this loop (except for the Poison Oak.) Most of the usual birds were seen. Although the flycatchers seemed to have been abnormally quiet (the Olive-sided was only singing his "hic hic" song), they all showed up. One Ash-throated not only chased the other flycatchers, but actively harried a White-breasted Nuthatch. Fifty-four bird species were seen by one or more birders. One interesting highlight was when all the Steller's Jays in the area began having a screaming fit. It turned out that one of the resident Cooper's Hawks had taken an avian lunch, and they forced him to go eat it elsewhere.
