However as I walked I met a birder walking in the other direction who also had similar results. When we reversed directions and passed each other again he told me he had found an adult male Black-Chinned Humming bird on a wire from a pole close to Curtner. I found the the bird and had several good long views. It regularly returned to the wire or to a spot close to it. After 20 minutes or so I went back to the car for my scope and got into a conversation with some people who live in the neigborhood who are quite aware of the variety of bird life around the river. It must have been 30 minutes before I got back to the pole and I found the bird within 10 minutes. This pole is at the end of the wire fence which starts at Curtner and runs north along Almaden Road (probably 200 feet or so). You can step arround the end of the fence to get a better view of the wire and hopefully the bird. John Hutz _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
