The Institute for Wildlife Studies is the only group using such tags. Birds have been released on Santa Catalina, and recently from Santa Cruz Island. It's apparently not unusual for young birds to wander as far as the Klamath Basin and Oregon. Interesting note, another observer located another (the same?) tagged bird some weeks ago in the same area. She was able to get the wing number, and discovered that the bird had been bred at San Francisco Zoo and released on the islands as part of the IWS project. Good birding, Mark Paxton _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
