We first spotted it in the southwest corner of the Stevens Creek Tidal Marsh at 10:00 A.M. Later we saw the teal in the northeast corner of the marsh. It then flew over to an adjacent section of Stevens Creek. After comparing notes with Jim Danzenbaker, we looked bayward from the nearby bridge over Stevens Creek. In the distance the Teal formerly known as Common rested on the muddy bank. Following up on a tip from Jim, Pat got her BLUE-WINGED TEAL for the year at the Palo Alto Flood Control Basin in the second pond (Pond A) northwest of where Adobe Creek meets East Bayshore Road. There is a small parking lot at the head of the trail that divides the two ponds.
