Hi Birders,

Looks like Panoche Road is very popular right now.

For my wife Sharon's birthday and for our anniversary, we drove from our home 
in south San Jose over to Los Banos Sunday morning, checked into the elegant 
Days Inn, watched both conference championship football games (well, THAT 
wasn't for Sharon), then Monday morning we birded our way home via Panoche 
Road (THAT was).

An excellent stop was the Foster Freeze in Hollister (medium vanilla dip).

How much does corn cost in Tampa? (You can do this one)

Best birds of the day were:

mountain bluebird - 5
lark sparrow, some singing - 100+
horned lark - 50+
kingbird - 5
black phoebe - 2
say's phoebe - 1
prairie falcon - pair
raven - few
yellow-billed magpie - 6
loggerhead shrike - 7
savannah sparrow - 50+ in a few flocks
long-eared owl - 1
california thrasher - 1
