[description snipped] The description sounded very promising for Rusty Blackbird. I just received a phone call from Mike Rogers confirming that identification. He mentioned some shrubs in front of Big Lots where some bread crumbs had been put out, and Blackbirds were feeding; and that he last saw it heading toward the Starbucks in the same shopping center. It's interesting that the bird currently in Santa Barbara (for several winters) hangs out in a large shopping center lot, often taking breakfast at Starbucks and lunch at Costco!
