All,

I hustled out to Salt Pond A11 at mid-day today 1/3/02 and managed to
find 8 RED PHALAROPES north of the outfall pipe that is halfway along
the southern edge of the pond.  There was also an adult male SURF
SCOTER in this pond.  On Salt Pond A10 there were 3 more female SURF
SCOTERS, 70+ REDHEAD, and 8+ RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS.  Further out on
A9 there were 37 more REDHEAD, 11+ more RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, and
4 adult male EURASIAN WIGEON.  The impoundment north of the Marina had
3 SANDERLINGS.

A pair of BURROWING OWLS was near the Ellis Street gate to Moffett
Field.
