After several attempts I finally saw the Byxbee Park Short-Eared Owl
today at 4:45 p.m. Thanks to those who posted recent observations of 
this bird. It flew practically over my head from the south end of Byxbee Hill
to the Palo Alto FCB and back, offering very nice up close views. 
Also of interest were a dark flyby swallow at Charleston Slough (I didn't
have time to get my bins on it but it was probably a Barn Swallow), at least 80
Bonaparte's Gulls across the street from the duck pond, and a Ring-necked
pheasant on the north side of Byxbee Hill at dusk.
