On the way we stopped at the Alviso Marina (RING-BILLED GULLS were on the railroad tracks, several MEW GULLS were in the pond east of the railroad tracks and at least 5 SANDERLING were in the impoundment north of the parking lot), checked the ponds at State and Spreckles (nothing of interest) and did a quick inspection of Arzino Ranch (usual stuff). Birding on Sierra Road was very slow but "mentionables" include No Parking signs, WESTERN MEADOWLARKS, WESTERN BLUEBIRDS, a GOLDEN EAGLE and a small flock of HORNED LARKS (our target bird).
