On Sunday (Feb. 2) afternoon, the Ferruginous Hawk came in to the antenna opposite 10500 New Ave. in Gilroy at almost exactly 4:45 PM. (Presumably the average time gets later as sunset moves later.) About 2 minutes earlier, I had spotted what was probably the bird in a distant field to the east, but it had gone before I could get a scope out. Talk about stakeouts!
