I took advantage of today's high tide to slide across Hook's Island in my canoe. On the boardwalk at the the base of the middle set of power towers, while watching the yellowthroats, marsh wrens, song sparrows, I saw one very pumpkin faced sparrow with a well defined grey auricular. I did not see him for more than a minute, and do not really have any more solid field marks, but it might behoove a more knowledgable observer to look  out that way tomorrow.  rick
