The previous sightings of these swans at JRPB was in 1986; prior to that it was 1955. On December 12 and 13, there were observations that suggest the swans are spending time nearby in Santa Clara County (Felt Lake, west of 280 in a restricted area of Stanford University, or Arastradero Preserve?). On 12/12, the pair of Tundra Swans was observed to enter Searsville Lake from a south easterly direction. On 12/13, between 2 and 3 p.m. I observed the swans flying over Ladera Oaks Swim and Tennis Club on Alpine Road (Santa Clara County), from a south easterly direction (from Felt Lake?) toward the west (Searsville Lake?). Later, around 4:30, I observed a pair of Tundra Swans feeding on Searsville Lake. What is the history of Tundra Swan observations in Santa Clara County? _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
