The bird was found after lengthy scans from the long, straight bike trail near Shoreline Lake. A scope was absolutely necessary, but we did finally observe the bird. It remained completely still as numerous AMERICAN WIGEONS, NORTHERN PINTAILS, RUDDY DUCKS etc fed actively around it. Eventually it raised its head, but only briefly. I'm sure other birds of interest might have been located in this large group, but we needed to leave in order to get a Christmas tree...
