Many species that have multiple broods build new nests and it is not always easy to observe the additional nesting to be certain that a second brood is not simply a re-nesting effort. But Mourning Doves will re-use their nests throughout the season. An observer in Turlock had a pair nesting under the eaves of his house and observed the fledging of six broods over the course of the year, just about 30 days apart. So the question is, can anyone document more than a single nesting success in Santa Clara County? More than two? Than three? I particularly need the dates and location, if you have these. Please reply directly to me and I will summarize for the group. Bill _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
