Unfortunately we found nothing new; best bird at Los Gatos Creek Park (aka Oka Ponds) was an OSPREY perched in one of the trees in the large pond while we had a SPOTTED SANDPIPER and several COMMON MERGANSER [including a nice adult male] in Almaden Lake Park. We had as many as three Spotted Sandpipers, six ROSS'S GEESE, a large flock of Common Mergansers [30 to 40 birds swimming and diving together], and a GOLDEN EAGLE at Calero Reservoir. We were unable to locate the White-winged Scoter on Shoreline Lake but an adult male BLUE-WINGED TEAL preening on the island in Charleston Slough was a nice find for the area. Earlier on our way up Hwy. 82 [going from Calero to Shoreline] we had Osprey perched in a tree on the edge of the highway just south of Metcalf Rd.
