Thanks to Mike Rogers for spotting it and pointing it out to me. Maybe I'll save on gas now. But those trips were why I found what is now confirmed as a HUDSONION GODWIT. The first sighting was Wednesday. It was very brief glimpse but I did have a flash impression of a Godwitish bird. I was so intent on finding the Stilt S. that I didn't go back to look for it latter. Thursday I found him easily and had good views including a flight between islands. The white wing stripes were spectacular in flight. After consulting the books my best guess was that this could be a Hudsonion Godwit but my inexpeience and inability to settle on a positive ID contributed to me not posting so others more experienced could work the issue and just see the bird. This morning, Friday, it was great to have Bob Reiling, Bill Bousman, Dave McIntyre on location to work this bird ID. John Hutz arrived shortly. Latter Mike Mammoser and Mike Rodgers arrived to add their expertise. Happy viewing, Dean Manley _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
