    Yesterday (Sunday) at the New Chicago marsh I encountered another birder
who had already seen the Ruff in its usual location east of the RR tracks,
and the Stilt Sandpiper in the impoundment along Spreckles St.  I'm sorry,
I didn't get his name (although I probably should have known it.)  I got
nice looks at the Stilt S., but didn't bother checking for the Ruff (which
I've seen several times since its return).  The former was with the large
group of Dowitchers, more actively feeding than most of them, but sometimes
preening and/or hiding in the flock.
