The first major influx of Ruby-crowned Kinglets is normally the first week of October. Banding data from the Coyote Creek Riparian Station from 1986 to 1996 include 599 new captures. The average arrival date was 28 September. The earliest arrival date was 8 Sep 1993. Possibly these were Hutton's Vireos, local residents, which can be hard to separate from Ruby-crowns.
