I went out to see this bird at lunch time, noting that it was an adult in a transition plumage. It is retaining many dark brown alternate feathers in the scapulars and wing coverts, much barring still down the flanks and on the sides of the breast, and some touches of chestnut coloration in the auriculars and the rear of the crown. It was in the first small pond east of the railroad tracks as you walk north of the entrance road to the EEC.
