Jack was looking at a candidate Semipalmated as I arrived, but it soon moved behind the heavy vegetation on the algae mat. Peggy and Bill Don showed up in a bit, around 9:30 am, and about the time that Jack respotted the juvenile SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER. We got good looks at this short-billed bird with its uniform scapulars and wing coverts. However, by the time that Dean Manley and John Hutz joined us, the sandpiper had gone behind the major clump. We worked the shorebirds for a while and about 10:00 am, two BLACK TERNS started foraging along the surface of the pond, sometimes coming within a hundred meters on the absolutely still pond surface. At this point Jack and I left. Bill _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
