I managed to find a female LESSER SCAUP with two small to mid-sized young and a female GADWALL with 5 medium-sized young, both new for the block. A nearly full grown fledgling CLAPPER RAIL was on Hook's Isle in nearby block 7545. A pair of adult BLACK SKIMMERS was still accompanying a large fledgling on the spit of land across from outer Charleston Slough - all three are unbanded. Several ducks here included 2 male CANVASBACK (one with an obviously injured right wing), a family of fully grown LESSER SCAUP youngsters and a few other adults, and a pair of GREEN-WINGED TEAL in eclipse plumage. Twenty-nine NORTHERN PINTAILS and 5 NORTHERN SHOVELERS are likley recently arrived wintering birds. Mike Rogers _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
