I was surprised to find four adult birds and two recently fledged young. One pair of adults was sitting closely on either side of one young bird at the bayside end of the island, another adult was closely guarding a fully feathered young bird further back on the island near where I have observed a young bird twice previously, and a fourth adult was between these two groups. I do not know whether one of the young birds was capable of sustained flight and arrived from elsewhere, or whether it hatched on the same island and I missed it previously.
