The only dowitcher I heard, of the many there, was a SHORT-BILLED. Other shorebirds included WESTERN SANDPIPERS, DUNLIN, BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, LONG-BILLED CURLEWS, MARBLED GODWITS, and WILLETS. A male BLUE-WINGED TEAL was also present, but eventually flew off and looked like it landed in the lagoon across from the Interpretive Center. Good numbers of GOLDEN-CROWNED and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS at the ranger residence included a couple FOX SPARROWS, but no White-throated.
