The Santa Clara County side was pretty empty, with a male LESSER SCAUP among a small group of RUDDY DUCKS being the only duck of note. Four BROWN PELICANS worked the bay, three on the Alameda County side. More interesting was an OSPREY (apparently a male) perched on one of the high voltage towers opposite the outer Flood Control Basin. A quick check of the ranger station area on the way out turned up a nice cooperative adult white-striped WHITE-THROATED SPARROW in with the sparrow flock in the dirt edge around the lawn area.
