I saw 35 species. Ducks on the big pond were mostly Ruddy Ducks and Mallards, but a few Ring-necked and one Northern Shoveler. The were 2-3 very vocal Marsh Wrens in the reeds along the creek and a Spotted Sandpiper and Green Heron by the spillway. While I was watching a Song Sparrow and a Fox Sparrow foraging by the pond North of the main one, an adult Nutmeg Mannikin flew in alongside the sparrows. On the way out, I saw a flock of 5-6 more mannikins comprised of adults and immatures. The bird of the day was a Merlin, perched in a Sycamore (I think) tree near the Northeast corner of the pond. An American Kestrel was in the same tree. Don Ganton [[email protected]] _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
