Yesterday 10/1/02 at 11AM I saw the imm. Blue Grosbeak - its head feathers stuck out like a crest and its tail was really small, bird was essentially tailess. Confirmed with Mike that he had the same bird on Sunday. It was in the vegetation in the creek, just north of the intersection with L'Avienda and just before the taller vegetation in the "island" in the middle of the creek. I could not find the Northern Waterthrush or Eurasian Goldfinches that Mike has reported from near where the power lines cross the creek, 1/4th mile north of L'Avienda.
