     I headed out the Adobe Creek levee this morning before 7, in the hope
of finding a hunting owl, but had no luck.  (However, the haze somewhat
obscured distant viewing.)  The most excitement was a Cooper's Hawk flying
low across Charleston Slough, which briefly stirred up the 20 Skimmers.
I also flushed a Bittern at the southeast end of the Forebay.
