As usual we have a huge area to cover, so we need plenty of help! Birders of all experience levels are encouraged to take part. Participants will be divided into parties, each with their own territories to cover. It's a great way to meet other local birders and get to know some of our south county birding sites. Areas within the count circle include Almaden Quicksilver and Santa Teresa County Parks; Almaden, Calero, Chesbro, and Guadalupe Reservoirs; the northern half of Anderson Reservoir; Almaden Lake Park; the northern Coyote Valley, including the Ogier Ponds and Parkway Lakes; Coyote Ridge in the Hamilton Range; and the summit of Loma Prieta. We could use help everywhere! The countdown dinner will again be held at my parent's house that evening--weary survivors will find plenty of pizza, salad, dessert, and beverages on hand. This will probably be my last year as compiler for the count. If everything goes as planned I will be leaving California in early January, and with my moving date fast approaching I expect to have limited time both before and after the count for organizing and compiling. So I am requesting that counters and especially party leaders get in touch with me soon, so I can get all our "ducks in a row" before I hit a time crunch. If you are interested in participating in the count please contact me before Dec. 27th at (408) 997-2066, or via email at [[email protected]] John Mariani [[email protected]] www.birdswest.com _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
