Folks:

      This morning I joined Al Eisner at the fence north of the CCFS waterbird 
pond and we enjoyed about a five minute view of the TROPICAL KINGBIRD on the 
fence around 9:05 am, and then a shorter view about 9:18 am, when the kingbird 
was displaced by a Loggerhead Shrike.  The bird had not reappeared when I left 
at 9:50 am.

      This is the eighth county record for this species.  Al says that at 
least two Tropical Kingbirds have wintered on the bay side of San Mateo County 
in the past, so maybe we can hope this bird will stay.
