Nothing really unusual brought in by the storm, but there is usually a window of 2-3 days where storm-born strays congregate, so maybe something good will come in. An immature BROWN PELICAN was foraging on the lake and good numbers of CANVASBACK and SCAUP have moved onto the lake. A count of 8 SURF SCOTERS are the first "extras" I've seen this season (two injured males have been regular all summer and a female less so). Of the 14 goldeneyes, most were clearly COMMONs, but three immature/females showed some Barrow's characters--these distinctions are tenuous, however, without some decent photos. A brief stop at L'Avenida showed Stevens Creek about a foot over the lower paths on either side. Neat stuff.
