Since the land has been available (over a year) the only changes of note are numerous No Trespassing and No Parking signs. A more subtle change, tall grasses, apparently results from the fact that cattle no longer graze the hillsides (this certainly effects ones ability to bird the area and would seem to discourage use of the area by those birds preferring short grasses). Best birds were two interacting GOLDEN EAGLES. (A juvenile seemed to be attacking, or possibly trying to feed from, an adult. At one point the adult rolled on it's back and extended it's talons.) Other notable birds included an OSPREY, RED-TAILED HAWKS, NORTHERN HARRIERS, an ACCIPITER, AMERICAN KESTRELS, YELLOW-BILLED MAGPIES, WESTERN BLUEBIRDS, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, two RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, HOUSE FINCHES, WESTERN MEADOWLARKS, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS and SAVANNAH SPARROWS.
