Good afternoon all....

Finally.....I can say I have seen an American Bittern in Santa Clara County 
(San Tomas Aquino Creek off of Mission Blvd). Many thanks to Mike Mammasor 
who I called to ask where the creek was!  Mike met with me and showed me 
where he found this great bird. Thanks for taking the time to do that 
Mike....

The Bittern was in the creek to the left of the large cement drainage pipe.  
It was foraging in the water then went into the back of the reeds. County 
bird #220 for his year...yippee....
