I just returned from Guadalupe Oak Grove Park after seeing a female Phainopepla. The
first I've ever seen in this park. She was in the south west corner near the fence in a
tree with a Chickadee, two Mockingbirds and lots of House Finches. Her call was a simple
whistle that was easy to imitate and kept her attention. Her gray crest was extended
forward and the red eyes unmistakable.  A a pair of Common Ravens flew by, a Spotted
Towhee was right on the trail, a noisy Red Shouldered Hawk was seen as was the usual
