We managed to find a sparrow flock on the west side of the park in bushes that included GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS, 2 FOX SPARROWS and we saw the immature WHITE-THROATED SPARROW with this flock. Under the large oak trees around a rock tank were 2 VARIED THRUSHES and in an oak tree on the way into the park was a beautiful, very highly colored male TOWNSEND'S WARBLER. Went to Lake Cunningham. No Lesser Black-backed Gull but feeding very close to the water were many VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS intermixed with TREE SWALLOWS and a few BARN SWALLOWS. It was nice that when they flew into the wind, they would almost be standing still so it was easy to see all of the markings. Good birding and Happy Holdidays to you all.
