Kirsten Holmquist and I did the upper section of Monte Bello OSP during the 
Palo Alto CBC and one of the more interesting sights was of a couple 
Red-tailed Hawks, seen earlier in the day, hovering (roughly holding a fixed 
position in the sky) with their wingtips held well back alongside their 
bodies in what would normally be thought of as a position used when in a 
stoop.  Later in the day as the winds grew stronger the only raptor 
occasionally seen were American Kestrels.
