Pat Kenny and I went down to Calero and saw the RED-NECKED GREBE as late as
11:40, still in the vicinity of the second red-and-white buoy right of the
boat ramp (though we first saw it much further to the west).  While we were
hiding under the roofed picnic area, a BALD EAGLE made a pass along the
western shore and perched in one of the oak trees near the lake.

Judging ourselves soggy enough for one day, we drove right past Almaden Lake
on the way home.
