Folks:

      This morning, 12/13/2002, feeling unlucky, I decided to test out my rain 
gear to figure out how wet I will get on the local CBCs.  So I took a ramble 
out to the mouth of Stevens Creek arriving there at 11:30 am, which is about 2 
hrs after the high tide at Palo Alto.  John Meyer was already there looking at 
RED KNOTS in the rain, so I joined him.  My count was 66.  Going out and back 
I checked the Stevens Creek Tidal Marsh for the Pacific Golden-Plover without 
success.  One ad BROWN PELICAN was over A2W and a couple of SORAS (one seen) 
and VIRGINIA RAILS were at the south end of the tidal marsh.  

      Oh, yes, my test.  My rain gear is fairly porous--I'm going to get wet.
