Folks:

      This morning, 12/11/2002, the male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was foraging on 
Shoreline Lake between the boathouse and the golf course.  On an ebbing high 
tide the 1st-winter PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was at its usual spot on the Stevens 
Creek Tidal Marsh.  Wintering 'Lesser' Golden-Plover were recorded somewhere 
in Alviso on the San Jose CBC in 1965 (3), 1966 (1), 1967 (1), and 1968 (8, 
dreaded "No details-Ed.").  These were undoubtedly _fulva_, but I have never 
seen a description or any details of the observation beyond the CBC report.  
The Pacific Golden-Plover has never been recorded on the Palo Alto CBC, so the 
pressure is on for Monday!
