It is possible to access this area by foot from the tree farm road - the first left off of Alpine Road (heading south) after the off ramps. They only let commercial vehicles enter the tree farm but if you park in the Ladera shopping center and walk in they probably wont bother you. Head left after you cross the bridge to skirt the tree farm, and you can work your way back along the freeway towards the snag. It's less than 1/4 mile from the interchange at 280 and Alpine Road.
