I first scanned Shoreline Lake, which had both the adult male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE and the adult male hybrid BARROW'S x COMMON GOLDENEYE. Also on the lake were 58 SURF SCOTERS, more than have been around in past weeks. I headed out to Salt Pond A1 and quickly located a LONG-TAILED DUCK in with the duck flock in the southeast part of the pond, which was then enjoyed by several others birders as well. This bird looked like Sibley's adult female, but did have some gray smudging on the flanks. Presumably this was the paler of the two birds reported previously. Fourteen BROWN PELICANS were over Salt Pond A2W to the east. Mike Rogers _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
